Terms & Conditions
Last updated: January 04, 2026
By submitting a manuscript or pitch to AlònTala Publishing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Eligibility
Submissions are open to Filipino authors of any age.
Authors under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to submit and to enter into any future publishing agreement.
The work must be original and the author must hold full rights to it.
Previously shared or self-published works (including those posted on personal websites, blogs, social media, or serialized platforms) may be considered provided that:
- The work is not currently under contract or exclusive agreement elsewhere, and
- The author is willing and able to remove the work from other platforms if selected for publication by AlònTala Publishing.
Works that are already contractually bound to another publisher, platform, contest, or rights-holder are not eligible.
2. Submission Guidelines
All submissions must follow the pitch and submission instructions outlined on the submissions page.
There are no strict formatting or font requirements for manuscripts or excerpts. Authors are free to present their work in a format they consider clear and readable.
Submissions must be sent only through the designated email address: submissions@alontala.com.
Submissions that do not include the required pitch information or that are sent outside the designated email address will not be reviewed.
3. Selection Process
Submissions are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
AlònTala Publishing reserves full discretion to evaluate submissions based on editorial vision, quality, originality, and market fit.
Submission does not guarantee selection or publication.
The review process may take approximately 1 to 3 months from the time of submission.
All authors will be notified of the outcome of their submission, whether selected or not. Due to volume, only selected submissions may receive personalized feedback.
Authors whose work aligns with our publishing goals will be contacted for further discussion.
4. Copyright & Rights
Authors retain full copyright to their work.
By submitting, authors grant AlònTala Publishing a non-exclusive, limited license to store, reproduce, and internally distribute the submission solely for the purpose of evaluation and editorial review.
No rights are transferred unless and until a formal publishing agreement is signed.
Submission does not create any partnership, agency, or fiduciary relationship between the author and AlònTala Publishing.
AlònTala Publishing may already be reviewing or publishing works with similar themes, ideas, or subject matter. Submission does not grant exclusivity over concepts, themes, or genres.
5. Submission Exclusivity
While under active review with AlònTala Publishing, the submitted manuscript must not be simultaneously submitted to other publishers, contests, or paid platforms.
The exclusivity period applies only for the duration of the review process.
If an author receives an offer from another publisher or platform while their work is under review with us, they must notify AlònTala Publishing promptly and withdraw their submission.
Authors may withdraw their submission at any time by written notice.
7. No Submission Fees
There is no fee to submit to AlònTala Publishing.
Selected authors will not be charged for editing, cover design, formatting, marketing, or other publishing-related services.
8. Royalties & Compensation
AlònTala Publishing operates on a royalty-based model.
No advances are offered.
Selected authors will receive a royalty share, currently set at 30%, with specific rates, payment terms, and calculation methods detailed in the publishing agreement.
Royalty rates may vary depending on format, distribution channel, or special publishing arrangements.
9. Editorial Process
Submissions are expected to be complete and publication-ready at the time of submission.
Selected works may undergo light editorial refinement for clarity, consistency, or production standards.
Authors agree to collaborate professionally with the assigned editor as part of the publication process.
10. Confidentiality
AlònTala Publishing treats all submissions as confidential and will not share them externally without the author’s consent.
Authors likewise agree not to publicly disclose private correspondence, internal feedback, or unpublished editorial decisions without prior consent from AlònTala Publishing.
11. Similarity Disclaimer
AlònTala Publishing may already be reviewing, developing, or publishing works with similar themes, concepts, premises, or subject matter.
Submission does not grant exclusivity over ideas, themes, genres, or narrative concepts.
AlònTala Publishing is not responsible for similarities between submitted works and other works that are independently created, acquired, or published.
12. Liability
AlònTala Publishing is not responsible for lost, corrupted, delayed, or incomplete files due to technical issues, including but not limited to email delivery failures, file format incompatibility, or system errors.
Authors are responsible for retaining their own copies of all submitted materials.
13. Disqualification
Submissions may be disqualified if they contain content that is illegal, unethical, misrepresented, or poses legal, reputational, or rights-related risks to AlònTala Publishing or third parties. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Plagiarized content or AI-generated material presented as original human work;
