What We’re Really Doing Here

A lifelong dream. A love for stories. A love for people.

But there was no blueprint. No connections. No investors. Just a vision—clear, relentless, and impossible to ignore.

AlònTala started as a dream I couldn’t shake. One shaped by years of reading stories that moved me and seeing so many voices like mine—like ours—missing from the shelves. I didn’t wait for a sign. I built one.

This wasn’t about chasing trends or creating a vanity press. It was about building something real—a home for writers who have something to say but no idea where to say it. A place where stories are treated with care, where authors are seen and supported, not filtered out by unread inboxes or forgotten after contracts are signed.

In the Philippines, writers often have no idea where to begin. They write, but don’t know who to trust, how to pitch, or whether their stories even matter. At AlònTala, we’re changing that. One bold voice at a time.

This blog exists to share everything we’re learning—about writing, pitching, editing, publishing, and building something from scratch. You’ll hear from both me and my Editorial Partner, Ann Garcia, as we write through the journey we’re living. There’ll be tips. There’ll be honesty. There’ll be growth.

So if you’ve ever dreamed of being published—but felt too small, too unsure, or too late—stay. Read. Write with us.

Because maybe you’ve been waiting for a sign.

Maybe this is it.
